Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with the Swiss Hotel Management Academy (SHMA), has launched the Cinnamon Hospitality Academy in Sri Lanka. The academy aims to provide world-class Swiss hospitality education through the VET by EHL Professional Diploma.
The partnership between SHMA, a subsidiary of A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd (Baurs) and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector. A. Baur & Company Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director Rolf Blaser commented, “We are excited to announce our synergy with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts to deliver the VET by EHL programs by the world’s best and number-one hospitality education provider EHL.”
The program, rooted in the Swiss Competency Framework, combines academic fundamentals with practical experience and is available as an 18-month professional diploma, followed by one year of work experience. It offers three specialized pathways: culinary, F&B service, and hotel operations. Training includes two days of theoretical and practical learning and four days of on-the-job training at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in Colombo.
