EHL Education Consulting Pioneers Hospitality & Tourism Education Initiative in Benin

In a remarkable milestone for hospitality and tourism education, we recently convened a curriculum workshop in Cotonou, Benin, to bolster the establishment of a new professional school in the sector. Facilitated by ADET, our mission encompassed a comprehensive work situation analysis and the initial definition of competencies in the Restaurant, Hotel, and Tourism sectors.

The significance of this initiative cannot be overstated, particularly in light of Benin's ambitious goal to welcome 2 million visitors annually by 2030. By prioritizing a competency-based curriculum and adopting a learner-centered approach that seamlessly integrates theory with practice, EMTHR (Ecole des Métiers en Tourisme, Hotellerie et Restauration) is poised to emerge as a beacon of excellence in the field.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders involved, including the Agence de Développement de l'Enseignement Technique (ADET), representatives of the Ministry of Professional Education, LuxDev, and local industry experts. Their unwavering collaboration and dedication have been instrumental in laying the groundwork for a transformative journey in hospitality and tourism education in Benin.

Together, we are charting a course towards a future where the next generation of hospitality professionals in Benin are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.
